"Come on Mr.V, there's an angel ahead!" Fia tugged on the big daddies hand, trying to get him to trudge faster. Mr. V, or Vincent as he was really named, just let her do so, he was extremely used to it by now. The little sister let go and ran forward, towards a dead splicer, "Here's an angel, I told you Mr.V."
Fia raised her syringe to stab into the splicer and gather the ADAM inside the man, Vincent stayed close, ready to protect her if neccesary, the syringe pushed into the dead mans flesh as if it was a knife through butter, and a neon pink liquid started to fill the syringe.
As if someone had rang the dinner bell there were shouts of, 'Hey, looks like we found us a little sisteh!' and 'Upsy daisy, cutie pie!' They drew closer, and Vincent tensed, knowing that this was merely the calm before the storm.
A female splicer in a tattered housedress dropped down in front of Fia, but didn't even manage to touch the girl as she had a drill through the chest in a split second, the splicer gurgled as she died, then fell to the ground in a heap, "Oh look Mr.V! Another angel!" Fia cried happily, as another splicer, a man in a bloody tuxedo gained a new orifice thanks to Vincents shotgun to the face. Three more splicers seemingly appeared from midair, one jumping down from the ceiling, a hook as her weapon of choice, Vincent froze one, took out his wrench and smashed the poor bastard to pieces, the other two dodged the winter blast shots, one even managing to clock him in the side of the head with a hook. A flash of red sponge-like material appeared in front of Fia, a second later a lady in a cock-tail dress and a bunny mask on appeared in it's place, the woman picked up Fia, and began to run, "DADDY!" Fia screamed helpless in the arms of her capture, "Mr.V! Save me!" She pleaded with the big daddy who had just taken out the two spider splicers.
"Shush, I don't have time for my children to act like hooligans!" The insane lady shouted at her, shaking her a bit to shut her up.
Vincent was now chasing the houdini splicer as fast as he could, but being a big daddy that was at about the same gait as a dinsosaur, or an elephant.
"Daddy! Please!" Fia writhed, but the splicer had a nice, firm grip on the little girl.
A loud screeching noise made the splicer only stumble for a step then run even faster, disappearing and reappearing as houdini splicers were known for was not possible with two people, not even with one so small as a little sister. This was bad, not for Fia, who had come to terms with her fate as being killed for the precious ADAM she stored, but for her kidnapper. The splicer looked up and immidiatly regretted it, for she was greeted with a large, rusty syringe to the center of her forehead. Fia tumbled out of the, now dead, splicers arms and skidded to a halt, the form in front of her kicked the splicer off of her syringe needle and turned to Fia, "Violetta!" Fia grinned, reaching out her arms to the big sister, who picked her up gently and craddled her in one arm. Violetta turned to face Vincent, who's port-hole had turned red meaning that he was angry, ready to fight to the death for his little sister.
Violetta walked away and sat Fia down in dead garden, with a rusted fence surrounding it, as if that would prevent her from escaping if she really wanted too. Violetta turned her attention back to Vincent, her own porthole turning from a friendly green to a fierce, enraged red.
Both circled each other, this more of a tradition then actually looking for each others weaknesses.
Violetta leapt forward first, stabbing her needle towards the chest of Vincent, who blocked the attack with his drill and shot back with a blast from his plasmid Winter blast. The shot missed, catching a camera that had been in the area.
"Guys! Stop! Mr.V! Violetta!" No one ever listened to a little sister. Now was not any different.
Violetta jumped up, pulling a perfect 360 in the air and stabbing at Vincent once again, another block from his drill, then a burst of winter blast.
This dance never seemed to end, it was always the same, attack parry, attack parry, again and again until Fia started to cry and Violetta left to kill off any troublemaking Splicers while Vincent calmed the sister by tossing her up in the air and catching her.
"Guys, please." Fia began to cry, and true to form, they both turned to her, expecting a splicer to be trying to murder her and take the ADAM filled slug from inside of her. There was no threat, and Violetta sprinted out of the room, leaping up and swinging from a chandiler in the next room, and disappearing. Vincent picked up Fia, and spun her around in a circle, making the little sister giggle, everything was now right with the world.
~
Violetta sat in her makeshift room, even though she was big sister and considered a 'mechanical monster' by most, she still had needs, and one of those was sleep and entertainment, and lets face it, killing splicers after a while was boring, it was just too easy.
Honestly, fighting with that big daddy and playing keep away with that little sister he protected was her only form of entertainment now.
If only that was the only reason she saved the little sister.
Violetta had never cared for anyone or anything here in Rapture, most of the population were fucked up ADAM junkies who couldn't control their powers, those idiots were splicers. The other 10% were a mix of Little Sisters, Big Daddies, or even rarer, Big Sisters like herself.
Little Sisters were the only thing keeping this slag heap running, but splicers minds were too clouded with greed to see that. They didn't realize that killing out little sisters would hurt them in the long run. Big daddies were created to eliminate those idiots who were too dumb to come close to a little sister, those big buckets of bolts with humans trapped inside were their guardians until their little sister either a) grew up and became a big sister, b) died, in which they would find a new little sister or c) the big daddy himself died.
Now, big sisters, no one really knew how they had truly happened, maybe a little sister who remembered how scary it was travelling alone without a big daddy to protect her figured out a way to become a guardian to the new generation of Gatherers, donning their ever present syringe and big daddy like armor, they were the ninjas of Rapture, stealthy, quick, and deadly efficient, they helped when Big Daddies were too busy to protect the only mission they had.

It didn't make sense for Violetta to become attached to a little sister, it wasn't like she was a big daddy, it was just that she couldn't stand to hear the girls' cries for help, or maybe she was just so bored she saved the girl to have something to do other than sit and play with the toys and ribbons she had found among Rapture.
Violettas' porthole, which was now a neutral yellow colour, rested on an old photograph she had found in her hand when she had come-to initially in Rapture. In it were two girls, one tall, looking about 17-19, with dark hair in a ponytail and a younger girl, seemingly about 8-11 years of age, dark hair as well, and in pigtails.
Violetta didn't even know why she kept it, maybe because it was the only thing that could tie her to a past she had no memory of, or maybe it was because the girls in that photo looked normal not like the ugly splicers everywhere else in this forsaken underwater city.
~

Vincent held Fia out towards the vent opening, the girl crawled inside, but before she disappeared inside, she turned and waved to her Big Daddy, "Bye, Mr. V!" Her yellow eyes flashed as she smiled at him. She turned and crawled further into the vent, it was time for her to rest, tomorrow would be another full day of ADAM gathering for the both of them.
Vincent watched the girl disappear, and turned slowly, without his little sister he really didn't have anything to do. He lifted his head up and noticed Violetta was staring at him from her perch on the chandilier, now with Fia not in the equation it was merely a normal big daddy-big sister encounter, they noticed the other, but did nothing to harm or help them.

Just another normal day in Rapture...
....Oh Bioshock, you addictive bastard you.
